Installation
- Unzip the downloaded file (right-click, "Extract All").
- Open the folder you get and run Memories Map.exe. Nothing is installed in Windows: to remove it, just delete this folder.
If Windows shows a warning
On first launch, Windows may show "Windows protected your PC", simply because the software is new and not yet widely downloaded. Click More info, then Run anyway.
To check that your file is the original, compare its fingerprint with the one shown above: open PowerShell in the
download folder and type Get-FileHash .\Memories-Map-EN.zip -Algorithm SHA256.
Your data
The software processes everything on your computer and never sends your photos, videos or dates. The two options that use the Internet (precise place names, detailed street map) are described in the privacy policy.
Components and licenses
Memories Map relies on free software and data: FFmpeg (GPL license, source code on ffmpeg.org), ExifTool (Phil Harvey), Leaflet, MapLibre, Protomaps, OpenStreetMap data (ODbL), GeoNames (CC BY 4.0) and Natural Earth. The full licenses are provided with the software.
