- Date: the download date, not the date of the memory
- Location: none, they don't appear on your phone's map

- Original date and time, in the local time of the place
- GPS position written into each file: your memories show up in "Places" on iPhone and on the Google Photos map

- Videos joined back together, in a format that plays everywhere
The result: in Photos (iPhone) or Google Photos, your memories are sorted at their real date and in their real place, among your other photos.
What Memories Map does
The right date and time
Every photo and video gets back its original date, in the local time of the place, even when you were on the other side of the world.
Text and stickers burned in
The text, drawings and stickers added in Snapchat are put back on your photos and videos, just as they were.
The place in the name
Your files are named, for example, "2023-07-14 22.15 - Montmartre, Paris.jpg", sorted by year and by month.
Videos joined back together
Long videos cut into pieces by Snapchat are put back together, in the right order.
A map of your memories
From the whole world down to street names, with memories grouped by country, city and neighborhood. It works without Internet.
Readable everywhere
Videos in H.264 format, date and GPS position written into the files: Windows, Google Photos or iCloud sort them correctly.
How it works
- Request your memories in the Snapchat app. In the app: your profile, the gear icon, "My Data", export your Memories, period "All time". The step-by-step guide.
- Download all the parts. You receive a link by email after a few hours to a few days: download all the ZIP files into one folder, without unzipping them.
- Run Memories Map. Choose that folder and a destination folder: your memories and their map are created automatically.
Your data stays with you
Memories Map runs entirely on your computer. No account to create, no upload of your photos or videos to a server: nobody but you has access to them.
Two optional features use the Internet to download public data: the list of places in the countries you visited and the detailed street map. They never send your photos, videos or dates. All the details.
